Thinking about coming down the first week of December to get away before the holidays. How are the crowds then, and what is the weather usually like?

December is honestly one of my favorite times down here. Crowds are way down, and it is mostly sweatshirt weather, highs in the 60s, though a cold front can drop it into the 40s at night. The towns lean into the holidays too, Seaside and Rosemary deck out with lights, and Baytowne runs its 12 Nights of Lights all December. Pack layers and you will have a great week.
